www.leighcc.co.uk  All-Rounder  Awards for 2004

To remind you of previous awards: In 2002, the award was comfortably taken by Garry Wood with an all-round rating of 4.0 (that is a batting average of four times his bowling average). In 2003, it was David Wells who not only stormed away with the batting cup with a top class batting average of 43, but also collected 16 wickets at 20.7 giving him an all-rounder rating of 2.1.

This year, we have lowered the qualifications slightly, so that we now examine our heroes of the green with a still-demanding qualification 200 runs and 12 wickets. This does mean that last year's winner fails to qualify since he only bowled four overs all season.

Here are the awards:~

For the second time, this year's winner was Garry Wood but only by a short hop this year from Luke "Freddie Flintoff" Grayland.  Again, Ian Bishop is third.  Clive Gordine sneaks into the rankings on the back of his return to the 1st XI bowling attack and therefore 14 wickets. Well done Garry, clearly a genuine all-rounder to win it 2 years in 3.
