Junior Cricket Section

Junior cricket at Leigh operates on two levels:

Age 5-11 ~ Kwik Cricket

Firstly, younger children are introduced to the game via the Kwik Cricket format.

This is a specially designed format suitable for children aged from five to eleven or twelve, using soft plastic bats and balls.

We play a combination of games and skill tuition on Sunday mornings throughout the summer on Leigh village green, with the occasional competitive game against other village sides to get the children used to playing real games of cricket. [read more]

Age 10-15 ~ Junior X1s

Secondly, for older children and teenagers, full scale junior cricket is played, including practice and coaching sessions and a programme of games against local junior sides.

The older juniors tend to enjoy plenty of opportunity through the season to begin their graduation to the full side.
